Not only is your schedule altered, but your finances are tightened as well. There is little that eases the financial struggles that accompany a diagnosis of cancer. Many women find themselves in a major financial predicament.
Partners for a Cure Foundation helps to provide financial assistance to those with cancer who may be struggling with the high costs of medical treatment, chemotherapy, day-care, transportation to and from medical appointments and other cancer related expenses.
When Lois Luppino was diagnosed with stage 3A breast cancer last September, she was working 30 hours a week and taking care of her two daughters. Once treatments and consultations picked up, Lois was placed on disability and paid only 60 percent of her hourly wage. She faced additional expenses, responsibilities and unneeded stress. All the while, she had little time to spend with her girls. “Having to work and take care of two school-aged children is stressful enough, dealing with cancer is more than anyone should have to deal with.”
When everything in Lois’ life seemed to be changing and becoming more and more impossible, Partners for a Cure Foundation was given Lois’ name as someone who needed assistance.
Partners for a Cure Foundation sees the overwhelming effects cancer has on individuals like Lois Luppino.
Pat Wilson, who discovered her cancer last September as well, was also helped by Partners for a Cure.
She always described herself as a positive person; never one to be depressed. When Partners for a Cure came into Pat’s life, she was at her lowest point. She was sad, tired, and devoid of the desire to get out of bed most mornings.
Through Partners for a Cure Foundation, Pat was able to join a relaxation center and support group that has given her renewed spirit. She receives constant support and care that has completely altered her mood and made her overall outlook hopeful.
Through donations, the Foundation is able to seek out more and more people like Lois and Pat, and bring them the relief they deserve.
